scared in ways

Today I took the heart burn pill my doctor prescribed and it got stuck that was around 2 pm and its not 6:30 and it still feels stuck. I can't drink anything. Has this happened to anyone else

The pill should have dissolved by now there may be some swelling from it being stuck. Have you tried drinking something warm like tea it will help with any swelling. It is also possible that the problem at this point is psychological and just coming from the fear that comes naturally when you think you are choking. If you continue to not be able to get anything down you might have to go to the ER so they can check for obstruction but I would seriously doubt that will be the problem if it was just a pill that got stuck. As long as you can breathe you should be fine. I would keep trying to take small sips of water. Richard is right if the pill was stuck it would have dissolved by now. You are probably just feeling some residual swelling. I would call your doctor in the AM if it hasn't resolved.
