Pre Surgery Bowel Prep Blues

If you don't have the stomach for this please keep it moving.

Please share your bowel prep guidelines, survival tips etc..

My bowel prep guidelines are

Dr ordered K-Dur Potasium pill

238 grams of Miralax mixed with 64 ounce of Gatorade not purple red or orange.

9:00 take two

11:00 take one

2:00 start Miralax/Gatorade drink

Nothing to eat by mouth :( only broth and liquids.

I'm not sure if its the nerves but I already started running to the bathroom. My stomach is making funny rumbling sounds.Thank God I work from home. Its going to be a long day.

Laura.. Noooooo.. I didn't, But it happens. I'm an ex medic and have seen it all.

Lol... Oh I'm sure it does!

Thats great that you didn't have any problems, But I'm sure it would of happened to me, because you guys know I'm always full of ****! Just ask the big four around here :P

I'm more worried about getting the milk of magnesia down than what will happen once I do. What does that stuff taste like?

When I once had an upper GI series and they made me drink that nasty drink, I couldn't finish it. It was the nastiest thing. I really hope this stuff is not like that!

Milk of magnesia is different than magnesium citrate.

Magnesium Citrate is normally used for the cleanse before surgery.
