Six month pre-op diet

I just started mine on 2/13 and am curious as to what others are trying? I have met with the dietician once briefly (longer appt next week), but she didn't really give me any advice or direction once she figured out I knew what I was doing (she said she's had people come in who don't know what Protein is...). She is having me track with my fitness pal. I'm doing low carb because that's what I've had success with in the past, and I've ended up between 1200-1300 calories each day so far.

Any ideas, tips, to dos? Half of me wants to adopt the crash diet mindset...assuming I wouldn't have time to gain it back? Probably not the best idea, but I want to take this time to lose as much pre-op as I can (bmi is 55 now).

Thanks!

  • I too started with a 50+ BMI and did high protein/low carb pre-op diet - I think it's the best way to go because it's basically what your diet will be post-op. Good Luck!
