I am 1 month out from surgery. This weekend started having bad leg cramps/aches. Thinking maybe potassium may be low but not sure. Also very fatigued! Any suggestions???

I found that if I am not drinking enough fluids I get horrible, crippling, screaming-out-to-God leg cramps. Drink more water! I also had my doctor change my high blood pressure medication to one without a diuretic - made a world of difference.

Possibly dehydration--there has only been one day post-op when I didn't get in enough Fluid (I was sleeping due to being up late to meet a work deadline) and I paid for it with horrible foot cramps all evening and night. This was about 1.5 weeks after my surgery. I got back to an equilibrium by really focusing on drinking diluted G2 and Water (this was the first time I had G2 since the hospital and I liked it better than I thought). Also, sometimes it is a magnesium deficiency. Remember that your body needs more fluid than normal when you are losing weight.

I get leg cramps if I don't get all my Water in for a couple days in a row.

The parent posts are all good. Also try pedialyte as a means to balance out the electrolytes. Saved me a trip to the ER when I had the flu not so long ago.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
