Final appointment with Dr went great! Found out ill have no restrictions afterwards. I can do whatever I want as soon as I feel like it. The nut said keep up with the liver reduction diet. Also I will also only have one night stay in the hospital.

Well that is wonderful news congratulations!! I went to my first meeting last night to find out that private pay will be $28,000.00 it's made me a little discouraged. I was hoping for less than $15,000.00. I've seen on this site some people say they have had this surgery for $9000.00. So on to plan B, I'm now calling dr.'s in other areas and states.

Wow $28,000 ! Is your bmi to low or will your insurance not pay for surgery?

My insurance won't cover any weight loss surgery AND my bmi is 35 so I'm really close to that too. Do u know how much ur dr costs if u were private pay? This dr came from iu bariatrics

No I don't know the cost but I'm sure they are close in price.

I was quoted between 28-45k at IU this week. Good Lord!!

Maybe you get gold staples instead of titanium. :)

Yea, I'm having enough problems with them, that I wouldn't even chance it to ask, LOL!

Yrs, I have insurance, but I'm getting such a run around I asked for a quote from all 3 hospitals in my area and that was my range. If I felt better bout it, I'd go to Mexico.

Hey fellow Hoosiers! Vincennes in the mix here too! I self paid in Mexico due to insurance denial. Pretty pleased with the whole experience and the weight loss has been fantastic. Heard great things about the IU Bariatric group. Good luck to you!
