I am joining the Indiana sleevers losing bench on October 21.

Ok everyone, I want to be super clear, so dumb question....what is the most a sleever will ever be allowed to eat at 18 mos. post-op? There seems to be a slight debate on the answer from my sources, so I present the question to you.

My "bible" from St Vincent's says at 18 months I should be up to 8oz. 4 of protein and 4 of other (starch, veggie, fruit).

"Allowed" makes it sound like someone's going to arrest you if you eat more. You're allowed to do whatever you want. You should be eating 8 ounces. :)

Well my Dr. Cooper told me a half cup at each meal, 2oz of protein and 2 oz of veggies and I'm 6'5 there has been times that i have gone over but my stomach filled up quick, so all in all, i try to stick with the plan, for me its only been since 6/19/13 that i been sleeved and so far i lost 90.6lbs, until they tell me different i will try to keep to the plan, my calorie intake is anywhere from 600 to 1100 ( 1100 was when i cheated) but avg. is 800 calorie. I remember so clearly how I felt at 411lbs and how I felt weak all the time and how people judged me on how disgusting I looked, i still have a ways to go but Im keeping with the plan and now Im getting compliments on how i look, I can buy clothes off the rack now at Walmart, to bad they don't have size 15 shoe at Walmart too...But life is good.. My point is why would anyone want to go back eating more food at a setting, yes it's your choice but why go back to bad habits.. And no one will arrest you on your choice, a real friend will tell you different but most will just smile at you and move on... Good luck to everyone who reads this in your journey in weight loss

Yes "allowed" isn't the best word. I submit to insurance in 11 days and should do pre testing soon....I'm getting closer.

Anyone going to Fort Wayne Bariatric Center?

Hope everyone is doing good and keeping on track, if you fall off get right back on and go for a walk !!

Hello everyone,

I just has my first consultation with Dr Evanson at St Vincent Carmel on September 16th. I'm really excited to get everything started!

My psych evaluation is Oct 2 and so is my first NUT meeting. I have to do a six month pre op diet per my insurance.

Does anyone here still go to the Avon support group? That's where I'll be going.

Hi all, I will be sleeved Oct 26 - not in Indiana - although I live in Indianapolis. Can someone outline the various support group meetings near Indianapolis (IU, St.V, Community, Speedway etc.) Do you have to have had your surgery there to attend? Obviously I am looking for one where I can come even though I had surgery elsewhere. Thanks for any info you have.

I know the meeting at Schneck Hospital in Seymour has one every 3rd Monday of each month and there are always people from other places where they had surgery where they attend, good time to be there is at 6:30pm

I am, had surgery 5/20/13. I'm in the monthly follow up now :) Great place to go !!!!

Well I hit my 100lbs weight loss mark, I was sleeved 6/19/13. About 70 lbs more to lose, or let's see far I can go and feel good. Life is good!

Well going on 109lbs lost now got a ways to go before I try to get on these pants that I bought 10 years ago but I'm feeling lots better. I feel with the amount of food I eat I should of lost more but it's comes off so slow now. I have no regrets on having this weight loss surgery done, it controls my hunger, I uncontrollably went on a benge and it stop my hunger in its track by filling up quick then I was very un comfy for 30min.. that happened about a month and a half ago and hopefully I won't do it again but it's a great tool to have!
