Hello!!

I have had a leak and I am going through a lot with the sleeve. I am wanting to find someone who has been down or is currently going down this road. It's rough. I have been reaching out and receiving amazing support from other sleeved friends Dec Sleevers are nothing short of AMAZING!! I think it would be nice chat or text with someone who has been here.

I have to say, i am really glad my urologist insisted I go in and get my kidney stone blasted instead of staying in pain. It doesn't sound to me like I would have been able to tolerate the pain. I have a very low pain tolerance.

I wish you felt better Sannah. I am coming to Portland on Sunday and I will be there until Wednesday.

Oh my goodness. I sure got a good laugh out of your message. I can crawl all over, Little Venla will just love it!! I spend as much time as I can on the floor with her. This will be a riot!!! If it helps I am wiling up try. I want so badly to get past this and be healthy.

I am surely happy for no obstruction. Just bummed how the dr was. He was not too much help. Basically go home and stick it out!! Just like I have been doing.

Yes you are sure lucky!!! I believe I am meant to ride this out at home. If the one I recently passed was small then. I have a great deal of fun in the near future. Goodness.

How are you doing? Yesterday was real hard for me. Today I am managing much better. But tired and the time change has messed up my daughters schedule a little bit. She did not want to nap today, as a result she is a Grumpy Gus!! Cant wait for her bedtime so I can have a little downtime.

I believe I may have passed a smaller stone based on increased pain level and all the tissue that I peed out.

Not sure i am reading to endure the impeding pain of passing another. Especially because my hubby is wanting to go out of town again to see his family. His family has no idea of anything I have endured. They know I am sick, losing weight and vomit often. Not good. I was told they will make up in there minds what is wrong with me. Likely that I have cancer. Not good.

I want to be healthy before I see them again.

What caused the leak? Do you know? I have surgery this month and now that I have read this I am really scared. Did they do a leak test before you were released to go home? How many days after the surgery did you have the leak? What were your symptoms that keyed you in to the possibility of a leak? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks!

That's got to be a scary feeling knowing that the pain will come on at anytime again.

You know what I'm going to say about you going out of town again:)

I wondered what his family might be thinking!

I kept my surgery from my in laws for a bit,

But eventually told them... if I had gone through the complications you have though?

I can see not saying a word because of the things they might say.. But leaving them to their own devices to guess what's wrong is not great either.

Did you end up telling them? Hubby doesn't trust his Mom can respect our desire for privacy. Our relationship with his Mom is hard. She is overbearing and often has issues with boundaries. So we generally don't share a lot with her. His relationship with her has always been this way, but now he protects our marriage by setting more boundaries. It would be nice to trust her, but she has proven otherwise. Bummer deal eh?

Evening!! A lot of details are in this post and you can read them too.

I was 11 days post op when my leak was found. This entire ordeal was scary for me and my family. I still can't believe I made it through, but I did.

I had several days of low back pain; a dull ache. One night if rigor and sweats. I saw the doctor and she said there was no way I had a leak I was too healthy. Haha. She said I would be going home in an hour when they confirmed her beliefs!!! Next thing a bed rolled up to wheel me down for emergency stent placement for my leak.

My surgeon does not do leak test after because if there was a leak while she was in there she would see it with her eyes. I was and still am comfortable with this concept.

A leak, is so much more than, a tiny hole!!! What is damaging is what happens to your other organs. In my case my heart and kidneys.

Tsunami of emotions are involved in having a leak too. I have been going to counseling for a month and a half or two to learn to cope with everything. I am regretful of surgery. I have lost 71lbs, but it's SO insignificant compared to everything I have endured and I am still experiencing. Maybe in the future I will have different feelings.

I thinks it's important for you and everyone else to know that neither I or my surgeon did anything wrong to cause this leak. I do not blame myself or her. People need to realize that complications just happen, it's a risk of surgery and you need to be aware of this. It's rare and unfortunately it happened to me.

If there is anything I hope people can learn from my experience its to listen to your body. After all you know it best!! Always better safe than sorry. My symptoms were not typical of a leak, but I know my body and when things don't feel right.

Try not to live in fear of a leak!!

Good I'm glad you are going to put off going out of town for a bit!

My husband ended up telling his mom after I had surgery. Because she was upset at him for not being somewhere when she wanted him ( he was taking care of me)

She was pissed and had all kinds of things to say about it! He told her, "see, this is why we didn't tell you" hehe that shut her up!

My mother in law lacks a bit of tact and is overstepping. But I still love the old battle axe!

(she hates when I call her that, she knows,thanks to my big mouthed kids)

I can't trust that she would keep it a "secret"

But really what I needed was to be able to go through process without undo stress, and I got that at least

It's good that your husband stands by you in that sense. We are lucky that our mother in laws drive their sons crazy too!

I think for spring break we are going to take the kids camping!
