I was wondering if anyone knew someone who had undergone surgery at 500 pounds? I have a seminar Monday and a consultation Wednesday and I am just curious if they will even do surgery, or if I would have to lose weight. My highest was 520 on the 16th, then on the 21st I was 514, and I am hoping I will have lost more at my next weigh-in to prove I am dedicated. Also, what was their rate of loss? I am just getting really nervous for my consultation.

I started out at 511LBS and I am 7 weeks out from surgery.

I have had 1 doctor refuse to operate on me, but I found a doctor that would.

I had to lose at least 40LBS to 50LBS before surgery. This sounds impossible

when you first hear that you have to lose that weight on your own.

But for some reason it worked for me this time, I think the reason I was able

to lose the initial weight was I had a surgery date and I didn’t have time to

fool around. Surgery went very easy for me, the hardest part is getting in

all your Water and Protein that I need. So far I lost 125LBS and don’t miss food at

Wow! Way to go! You are doing amazing So glad you didn't give up after the first doctor.

Most Doctors will most likely have u loose weight before surgery. You will be on a pre-op diet. I didnt have to although I wish I had buI am a lower BMI Good Luck.

I only have to be under 500 My appointments start Thursday (medical exam, psychologist, exercise expert, and a nutritionist) but I will find out at my one month follow up scheduled for Feb 26th if I am all good for surgery, and thats when I should meet with a surgeon to set a date! Although I will not know for a month whether or not I am cleared, it still feels so quick!
