Dont be a tough guy - take your meds

I notice sometimes people almost bragging about how they didnt need their pain medication and this and that and I just wanted to say something about that - if you truely are not in pain thats fantastic, but to the rest of you out there - TAKE THEM.

It helps you sleep better, and the better rest you get, the better you feel and the healing process is better for it. I am not in excruciating pain but it does help.

Maybe email your PCP or your surgeon? Ask about alternatives to Advil for pain. You should be okay to take basic OTC pain relief Tylenol.

Good. Hopefully you will be back to normal soon. Pain is really hard to deal with when you are trying to sleep because I know at least for me - its all I can focus on, and when I am focused on something there is NO WAY I am getting to sleep.

NurseGrace, I broke my ankle 4 mos ago and have been on several diff. pain meds constantly since then. I've not had any pain meds in over 48 hrs other than ibuphropen and my pain level is sky rocketing after being on my feet grocery shopping for an hour. I broke down and took a T3 a few min ago, can't stand the shooting pains going through the ankle. And I knew if I took the IB i'd be bent over with a stomach ache since I skipped solid lunch today and opted for a protein shake. I think I'll give my WLS surgeon a call tomorrow and ask him about the nsaids. Thanks so much for responding.

Rob, my doc said I could take them for migraines ONLY with a full stomach. I've been too nervous to try it, myself. Hope you feel better soon.
