FRUSTRATED!

8 days post-op & I'm not getting anywhere near the amount of fluids I need per day.. And anything I do drink, comes right back up.. I cant do broths any longer.. they just make me gag.. & any other Soft creamy soups the same!!!! It's so frustrating & disappointing.. I did this to eat healthy & lose weight the healthy way.. Not to starve!!! Or be a bulimic!!!! So frustrated!!!! Please help!!!!

It sounds like you should contact your surgeon and provide this information to see what your alternatives are or if you need medical assistance.

Doc said yesterday that I'm doing ok, and to just stick with Water, Gatorade, & my Protein Shakes till the stomach fully heals.. Those things stay down at least :)

I know everyone says you need 64oz of water a day but my Doctor said at first your goal should be 32oz and you work your way up to 64oz. Are you able to at least get in 32oz? If you can get that then at least you won't dehydrate.

Take it easy on yourself and your baby tummy! It's still so early for you...do your best, and follow doctor's orders. I liked room temp Crystal Light early on, now it has to be icy cold ( at 8 months); I still can't handle plain water in any quantity. Trust yourself and give yourself time. Good luck!

Just focus on getting as much fluid as you can. Your protein shakes count as fluids also at this point. No biggie, you are doing pretty good. :)

Thanks so much!!!! I will be focused on fluids for my next 2 weeks & try not to get so discourage early on!!!! Thanks for the inspiration :)

As long as you can tolerate protein shakes that is a good place to start. Hang in there. Good luck!
