Welcome. It's natural to be nervous but you'll do fine. I am from L.I. also. Where are you having your surgery?

lismilie, I am SO excited for you! I have been banded now for just over a month and I LOVE it!!! I have lost 20 pounds since surgery (although I was told that was NOT usual as most people don't lose any during the first 6 weeks). I had lost 30 pounds prior to surgery just to make sure I was as fit as possible before surgery so I would have few if any complications. I have never felt better in my life. The band was the best thing other than being saved (I'm a Christian) that ever happened to me. If you have any questions or just want to chat email me! I have my first fill on the 13th so I will say a little prayer for you that day. Good luck you will be terrific! God Bless! Jenni:pray2:

Good luck with your banding...see you on the other side. I'm on the 10th of next month and I'm scared as hell, but I realize I'm just existing now not living...I wanna live again! Also, I'm finding the before and after pictures extremely motivational.

I'm so happy for you!!! I love being banded! It has made such a difference in my life! I can honestly say that I'm really starting to live again for the first time in many many many years. I do all kinds of things I couldn't do before. I love the life God has opened up to me through my surgery! You are going to be so wonderful! I really believe that because I have the Lord with me, my surgery was perfect (the Dr said so) and my recovery was so minimal that I was back on real food in 3 weeks just way less of it and I have lost 20 pounds in the month since surgery! I'm so happy for you! Please keep me posted! I will put you on my prayer list!:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
