Started Soft Foods diet...I need help!

Recommended Posts

I started the soft foods diet today.

Not sure why but I thought I could eat 2 scrambled eggs with shredded cheese on them. I thought there was no way I would not be able to eat it all. I mean I used to have 2 eggs, bacon and toast and a big glass of milk! I know this is not the same stomach I am having a hard time adjusting. Does it get easier? I hope so, anyway, I eat probably a little more than half and I found myself even though I was overlly full trying to eat more because I didn't want to waste it! What the heck is wrong with me!

I guess as my stomach heals it will get eaiser, I don't know! I will eventually learn what I can eat in one sitting but I thought since I wasn't eating the veggies and starch the Protein could be more to match that diagram they gave me. IDK it is also my first day of foods.

Thanks for reading any advice would help me. :D

Your stomach is smaller now your portions will be smaller I am 5 months out and can't eat the portions I used to eat. If you continue to over eat and force the larger portions you will get sick and throw up and could eventually stretch your stomach out after time.

Thank you both. I know these things but I guess I just got to get it in my head. It will take a bit to get my eyes acustom to what will fit. I have tried the smaller plates thing. My brain thinks I have to finish it or it's a waste! I guess that is a mind issue I need to deal with.

I really don't want to strech the sleeve that is why I was concerned too.

Thanks again! :)

Maybe start out only cooking one so you don't feel as wasteful or force yourself to finish. We have to change put entire life and way of thinking if you feel your wasting have containers so you can put leftovers in them without feeling guilty.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
