Anyone else still in pain?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved Oct 17. So almost 2 months post but I am still having pains! wth??!! Its not constant but enough to start making me concerned. Its a sharp stitch type pain. Usually happens with sudden movements or when I try to lie on my stomach or either side in bed. Couple days ago it was SO sharp I yelled out in pain. It is on left side which I know the whole "most work" story. Ive discussed with my surg and was told I cud have pain up to 3-4 months. But just curious.....am I the ONLY one. Im already a slow loser....now im a slow healer?? smh

Thanks for your topic!! I was wondering how long the pain will last. I just had my surgery on monday and had five incisions. Only one on my right side still hurts. Everybody heal different. My cousin had the bypass nov 26 and she only needed pain meds once at the hostipal and is feeling great.

I had surgery on 11/15 and like you I have stabbing pain depending on how I move on the left side between the left and center incisions. The two incision sites themselves aren't really sore much, but the area in between... WOW.. some days are worse than others, but there are times where it feels like a knife and it burns. I did ask the about 2 weeko and they said that was the side where most of the work was done a the stomach was pulled through. I go back this Friday and plan to discuss it again. Makes getting in and out of the car a real treat.

You aren't alone!

I was sleeved on november 14th. All last week I had severe severe abdominal pain. Couldn't move. My doctor reassured meet it was muscle. Today is the first day I feel better. Good luck..

Oh man. Great to hear im not alone. Ive been going thru heck with this. And yep I relate to the not being able to move. Matter of fact only THREE weeks ago. So bad that I got very concerned about returning to work. I have a very physical job at railroad yard throwing heavy railroad switches being one of my duties. So im thinking NO way can I go back to work! (been off SINCE surgery). So I had some muscle relaxers from a previous injury. Since my surg was saying "the pain is muscular" lol I decides to take one....BAD MOVE. Ended up in E.R. So off the M.R. (it DID stop the pain tho) and back came the pain lolbvs. Cant win.

Great post! My surgeon said pain at site in which they removed tummy will hurt from 2-4 weeks. I was sleeved on 11/27, was doing fantastic up until yesterday. Now have pain every time I move or sneeze.(yeow!) I hate to hear that we're all in the same boat but I feel better knowing that I'm not alone in this.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
