Travel soon after surgery

I'm new to this forum. I have had a band since 2009 and just got approved for revision to sleeve. My surgeon can schedule it as soon as December 22nd but I am traveling 12 days later to be a bridesmaid in a wedding. In your opinion, will that be too soon for travel? I've waited so long for this and now I'm so disappointed to have to postpone it.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I don't think it would be too soon.... I went to Mexico for my sleeve and flew back home to WI from Mexico 4 days later and then back to work on the 7th day. I would just take it easy and don't do anything to strenuous...

I'm not your doctor but I traveled 9 days after my surgery. I cleared it with my doctor first! I rode for 4 hours in the car to visit family for Thanksgiving. It was tiring for sure!! Just talk to your doctor about it and see what he/she has to say.

I traveled home for my Mom's funeral 7 days after my surgery, and back about a week later. I had complications on the last leg home, but I think it was more to do with the circumstances than the actual flying.
