  1. Almost 1 year out, Oct. 30th, 2012 was surgery date, I am down about 102lbs. not quite to goal yet but definitely happy of where I am. it was a slow ride for me but I wouldn't have it any other way.
  2. Even after losing 98 pounds... I still sometimes look in the mirror and think I"m still that fat girl that weight 256 pounds 10 months ago... it's all part of the process and our minds catching up with our bodies. I agree with "indecision".... just let the feelings happen, it's all part of the process and just keep in mind this is a journey.
  3. I am at about 10 months out and although I have NOT gained any weight, I am getting a little too comfortable with my eating habits again... I'm with you all, I need to get serious again.
  4. Everyone looks so AMAZING!!!!
  5. so inspiring and amazing to see everyones amazing results!!!
  6. Keep trying to get the answers BEFORE you go in .... this is your life and body... if they cannot answer you straight up then I would seriously reconsidering this doctor and move on to someone else who makes you feel more assured.
  7. Thank you so much for sharing!!!! I too am considering this and this post was very helpful!!!
  8. I'm about 6 1/2 months out... honestly I think I can pretty much eat whatever I want... BUT... my quanties of food are still VERY small! When I go out to eat... I often times can only eat a couple of bites and then I'm done for. I feel bad... sometimes I've had servers ask if there was anything wrong with the food... I've just replied that it's me and I wasn't very hungry but it tasted wonderful.. then smile. This usually reassures them. I will say though, when I've had something with a bit too much sugar or fat in it... boy do my insides let me know I made a BIG no no... I swear my insides are screaming out to me and letting me have it.. then a little while later... the throne and I spend some time together that isn't very pleasant. Sorry if that's too much info... but that's what I've experiened and a great reminder to myself to be good.
  9. I went into surgery with a cold... it was fine... I made sure they were aware that I had a cold and they didn't seem concerned about it.
  10. Congrats!!!! This is a life changing journey! One that I will never regret... keep up the good work!
  11. I so agree !!! and also shake my head when reading things like this... I admit.. being almost 6 months out and 70 lbs down... I can eat pretty much anything... but I choose to eat what I eat and WILL NOT go back to where I came from. So I try and make good choices, I exercise and I thank myself for making this choice and going through it to give myself another chance at being healthy and happy.
  12. That's awesome!!!! I too got a tattoo to celebrate and remind myself of this journey.... I got it on my wrist and it says "Without struggle, there is no progress" I LOVE IT!!
  13. whoop whoop!!! This is definitely not an easy journey....
  14. Hopefully your doctor gave you a reccomendation on how long to wait after surgery to exercise... I was told to walk, walk, walk... but as far as lifting weights, I had to wait at least 30 days to lift 20 lbs. So I began my exercise regime of cardo walking right away... as I felt up to it.. then about 1 1/2 - 2 months later started working out with a personal trainer 3x a week.
  15. Exercise, exercise, exercise.... build the muscle to replace the fat.
  16. congratulations!!!!!!! Such an inspiration!
  17. I think Dr. Garcia was WONDERFUL!!! But I don't know anything about the one you are scheduled with. But only being a week out... can you switch???
  18. I'm doing great... was sleeved on 10/30 and as of today down 63.8 pounds! I only weigh in on Saturdays and have not seen a stall yet. Knock on wood! I've got about 40+ pounds to go to reach goal!!! So excited!
