What To Expect?

Hi, I am so happy I found this forum as there in nothing like it in Australia. I had my surgery 12 days ago and since then I have lost 22 pounds. I need to lose 70 pounds total. I was hoping for some feedback on what to expect. Does the weight loss slow dramatically at a certain point or is it different for everyone. I have recovered well and was going for walks on my 3rd day after the op. but I seem to be getting heartburn a lot.

Lol I'm from the UK by the way :-) xx

Thanks so much Carly, I will talk to my surgeon about the heartburn and good luck with your weight loss journey.

I had prescription strength omeprazole (sp?) for at least two months post-op and since then I've taken the OTC version (half the strength) and have been just fine. I don't take it daily anymore either.

I can't remember how much weight I lost in the first month! I think it was in the low 20s. I know I'm down 90 now! Good luck on your journey!

Managed to get a prescription today and already I feel so much better. The heartburn was really starting to get me down. Thanks so much for your advice.

I took one 40mg Nexium this morning and today has been so good. Not one bit of heartburn all day. Maybe you could ask your doctor about this. Good luck!!
