Hey all!!

A little about myself:

I'm 22 years old && have always dealt with weight issues. I graduated high school in 2008 && have since gained 40 pounds O_o!! Tell me about it, right? I honestly have NO idea how I've gained all this weight. Last year I went up to 251 lbs at only 5'3". I am now down to 235 lbs. In 2007 I was 218 lbs. If I could I would blame the difference on college but that's not the problem. I've met with my surgeon, Dr. Gersin, from Carolinas Weight Management in Charlotte, NC. I've gone throughout my psych eval && met with my nutritionist. I have my exercise eval on 12/4 && hope to be sleeved March 2013. Does anyone have any tips/suggestion? Or just want to converse?

Hi Shell, welcome to the VST forum. Jump right in and ask questions and give answers.

We all wish you the best on your new journey!

Just realized you posted this in the "Twenties" group - sorry - I'm just a resident old fart :)

Hello nice to meet you! Welcome to the forum! My name is Amanda and I am 24 years old. I weigh quite a bit more than you at 376 lbs. When I started my journey in July I was almost 450 lbs. I was sleeved last Wednesday 11/14. :) Good luck with everything and be sure to follow everything your doctors tell you!

Thanks it was from my wedding in March. Seeing my size in the pictures is what really broke the camels back for me. We spent so much and I am not happy with myself in them. Lol. As far as how I am doing post-op... my pain has actually been pretty minimal. I get sore and tender in spots at some times, but nothing has been excruciating. I have been taking childrens tylenol from the pain. Day 1-2 post-op it was hard to keep food down and I was vomitting a lot. Since day three I have not been naseous at all and the worst of my problems have been gas and some loose bowel movements.. TMI I know :P

Feel free to private message me if you want to chat more or have any other questions! :D

Hi Shel! Welcome! I think it takes a lot of courage to start on this journey so congrats :)!

I will be sleeved dec 21. I'm sure our programs are different ( as they all are) but I think it is awesome to find people to go trough the process with.

Amanda I was married in oct 2011 and I know what you mean. Everyone tells me I looked beautiful but I just keep looking at my pictures and seeing how big I was/am. I didn't *feel* that big on my wedding day so it is such a shock to see the pictures.

I know they kept telling me the same thing. So my hubby and I plan on having a vow renewal in say 5-10 years and then I will be PROUD of my photos! :)

That sounds like a great plan :)

Welcome to VST! Hooray to you guys for having the courage to do something about your weight now instead of wishing like me that you had done something earlier.

I fully believe that it is never too late! So in that spirit I think you deserve just as much praise :)! Are you pre or post op?

Hi everyone. My name is Bonnie and I am 29. I was sleeved November 12, went home on November 14 and came back on November 18 in severe pain. I am NOT trying to scare any one, but I am a part of the 1% that developed a leak. If you guys have any questions or concerns, just let me know and I will try to help!
