Hey all!!

A little about myself:

I'm 22 years old && have always dealt with weight issues. I graduated high school in 2008 && have since gained 40 pounds O_o!! Tell me about it, right? I honestly have NO idea how I've gained all this weight. Last year I went up to 251 lbs at only 5'3". I am now down to 235 lbs. In 2007 I was 218 lbs. If I could I would blame the difference on college but that's not the problem. I've met with my surgeon, Dr. Gersin, from Carolinas Weight Management in Charlotte, NC. I've gone throughout my psych eval && met with my nutritionist. I have my exercise eval on 12/4 && hope to be sleeved March 2013. Does anyone have any tips/suggestion? Or just want to converse?

Hello nice to meet you! Welcome to the forum! My name is Amanda and I am 24 years old. I weigh quite a bit more than you at 376 lbs. When I started my journey in July I was almost 450 lbs. I was sleeved last Wednesday 11/14. :) Good luck with everything and be sure to follow everything your doctors tell you!

Thx for welcoming me. Amanda YAY!! How are you post op? BTW I love that profile pic

Thanks it was from my wedding in March. Seeing my size in the pictures is what really broke the camels back for me. We spent so much and I am not happy with myself in them. Lol. As far as how I am doing post-op... my pain has actually been pretty minimal. I get sore and tender in spots at some times, but nothing has been excruciating. I have been taking childrens tylenol from the pain. Day 1-2 post-op it was hard to keep food down and I was vomitting a lot. Since day three I have not been naseous at all and the worst of my problems have been gas and some loose bowel movements.. TMI I know :P

Feel free to private message me if you want to chat more or have any other questions! :D

Hi Shel! Welcome! I think it takes a lot of courage to start on this journey so congrats :)!

I will be sleeved dec 21. I'm sure our programs are different ( as they all are) but I think it is awesome to find people to go trough the process with.

Amanda I was married in oct 2011 and I know what you mean. Everyone tells me I looked beautiful but I just keep looking at my pictures and seeing how big I was/am. I didn't *feel* that big on my wedding day so it is such a shock to see the pictures.

I know they kept telling me the same thing. So my hubby and I plan on having a vow renewal in say 5-10 years and then I will be PROUD of my photos! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
