Anyone Know Of...

I know this is a shot in the dark but maybe someone knows something different. Does anyone know of any individual/private insurance that will pay for weight loss surgery? Not medicaid/medicare. If you do please share

Thanks in advance

I'm referring to insurance not through an employer.

I have Kaiser individual insurance (not through an employer) and it paid.

Wow really. Was it a difficult process to have it approved? How did you go about getting the insurance? Can you give me as much info so i can look into this option. Thank you

I'm in NorCal. I went through Kaiser Fremont and you can see the timeline in my sig. In SoCal, the process is different, but there is a thread for SoCal Kaiser where the process has been discussed a lot.

Medicare has aproved the sleeve recently and left it for regional aprovals to be done a second time. All I know is that in New York and Connecticut you can now use the Medicare/Medicaid program and insurance for this. They already had been aproving the other type, By pass and Lap Band.
