3 Month Post Op Visit

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is the 3 month post op visit with the surgeon and I am dreading it. Today was the blood draw and I am almost hoping the results are not back in time. Am I losing weight? Yes but I do not feel healthy and am terrified of what the labs will show. None of this is rational, it is just how I feel and needed to vent about it.

Well...look at it this way. If there is something off then now is the time to find out and do something about it. I pray you are right on track but if not let them give you all the help you may need to be healthy...isnt that why you had the surgery? Let us know how it goes!

Hang in there! If you're doing everything your doctor recommended and you're losing weight, you should be fine. Don't over think it.

Sending you good vibes.

Thanks very much for the replies and support. The visit went well, he is pleased with my weight loss but is now insisting that I exercise on a regular basis. I know this but mentally the idea of losing calories when I am eating so few is a major challenge, has been from the beginning.

The labs were a little questionable since I had a delay in finding Vitamins that could be tolerated after surgery. Vitamin D was low but it's been so since before surgery so that does not concern me right now. My cholesterol jumped 20 points in three months(!) and my AC1 is elevated. I have NEVER had an elevated glucose level, fasting or not, and this has set me on edge. Doc says this was the body reacting to surgery over the time period and the new way of eating but still.

I have a visit scheduled with my PCP in about a week and will have her pull labs again to double check these results.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
