Inner Thighs - Ick!

I have always carried alot of excess weight on my inner thighs. Years of thighs rubbing together has left the skin weird. I will probably be stuck with the pocket of fat and a bunch of excess skin there unless I do surgery and/or lipo, but I have a question about the skin.

The skin is sorta darkened - I assume that is essentially like a callous or toughening due to the rubbing. In addition, there are quite a few blackheads on the skin there - I would say 1-2 blackheads per square inch in the worst area. They aren't like open zits, just black spots in enlarged pores. I just started using a zit scrub in the shower like you use for your face, as over time they do reduce blackheads. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to otherwise improve the skin and make it look more normal I know that the excess skin isn't likely to improve, but wondering if I can reduce the discoloring and blackheads.

I have never seen this discussed, makes me wonder if I am the only one with this issue.

I definately have loose skin, and stretch marks from a lifetime of obesity but I don't have a large panny or any skin irritation anywhere else - this is my ugliest area.

I am a paramedical aesthetician/laser tech for a plastic surgeon, common problem we see ... ask your dr to prescribe 4% hydraquinone cream, use it like religion 2x a day... Its a powerful skin lightener, hopefully thay will help evenout the skin discoloration... The black heads are potentially from stretched skin pores... Get Cetaphyl AntiBacterial Bar Soap for keeping clean once extracted, its build up of bacterial, sweat and so on in stretched pores

I have to chime in here. I've been suffering from Hidradenitis suppurativa since puberty. It's painful' date=' ugly, and embarrassing. My doctor put me on a cocktail of 500mg rifampin and 500mg clindamycin 2x a day and it has helped so much!!!!! Just thought I'd share <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

Do you take it on a constant basis? Any side effects from the meds?

Since this thread is revived I thought I should give an update now that i am at goal.

First, my inner thighs have alot of excess skin so I will eventually have a thigh lift. I started using a blackhead treatment cream just once a day - morning shower. The number of blackheads has reduced incredibly. I don't have the darkening of the skin in other locations, so i am not sure if I have the condition that has been talked about on this thread.... the stretched skin making room for blackheads makes so much sense to me - that is exactly what it is like!

I also have a mild case of HIDE - Hidradenitis suppurativa. Right now I have one "boil" that is deep, not oozing and just feels like a bump, no pain, sorta back of the thigh near the butt. I just leave it alone because i have been convinced that if you try to "squeeze" the stuff our of these boils it spreads the condition. Could be my imagination, but my approach is to just leave em alone, but I hate that condition. I got it after the birth of my youngest son, showed up a few weeks after. I was convinced I got it at the hospital but of course don't know.

I am going to ask about the cream you mention for the blackheads. It will probably be a year before i get the thigh lift and I guess I will feel better about those thighs if this is gone.

BTW, even with the really bad extra skin, my thighs look great under clothes and I don't need to wear shapewear to keep them in. That is better results then i feared....

Yes I take them every day and this frequency of bumps and boils is greatly reduced. When I do get one, its not nearly as bad and doesn't leave a huge horrible scar.

As for side effects, I haven't noticed anything personally, but it all depends on how your body reacts to antibiotics.

Some people are against taking meds like this, but my condition was so bad I could hardly walk. So it was worth it for me.

Good luck!!!

I have always had this issue what I tried once andbit worked but you have to do it every night and day. I bought raw Shea butter. Vitamin e oil and emu oil. I put the share mutter in the microwave to soften it and mixes the oils in. I then used it the next morning and every night. I couldn't do it during the day bc its very thick and too much for the day time. At night I made sure to layer where I had dark skin. It cleared up after a while and continued using a scrub. I stopped using it and it came back.

Are you pushing this product? This is the second thread you've pushed it on.

My Pink Wink, like other bleaching products, does not cure the cause for the darkness. It simply masks it.

Actually I'm not, I'm just trying to help everyone who's had the same thing because I know how horrible it is to go to the beach and have to be careful not to show the darkness of your inner thighs, and as long as it doesn't show it doesn't matter to me. I just want it gone when I'm at the beach or with my significant other. It's a recommendation, which I thought was the point of this forum..... To help each other.
