Problems With Pre-Op Diet And Work?

As of today I am officially booked for surgery with Dr.Lopez in TJ in December! I do physical labour at a coal mine and work 12 hour shifts(14 hour days with travel). I am concerned about the pre-op diet and my job as I will be working right up until the day before I leave for TJ. Has anyone else that works in labour positions have any trouble with energy, passing out, etc. as a result of labour work during the pre-op diet?

How long will you be on the preop diet for?

I am having surgery in feb with dr Lopez. The per op diet they said for me follow seems easy. Kinda like slim fast. Protein shake morning and lunch salad and lean meat for dinner. I have to do that for 7-14 days then a three day liquid diet three days before surgery.

Thank you for your replies! the protein shakes, salad and lean meat seem okay. I'm just concerned about the 3 day liquid diet that will land on my night shifts! I haven't received pre-op diet information yet, but I did read that the length of the diet depends on how high your BMI is. What sorts of things can you have on the liquid diet?
