I was so excited to move on to puree foods today. I don't have a food processor but figured I could get by with a blender, but my first attempt was a disaster. I cooked a piece of chicken and some veggies, but when I tried to puree them the blender never got them to the mushy state I was looking for. I ended up chewing each bite 100 times and it took me over an hour to eat. I was ready to cry by then time I was done. Any suggestions? Short of putting in so much broth that each meal is Soup I don't know what to do. I really don't want to buy a food processor if I don't have to since I will just need it for 2 weeks, the costs related to this surgery are strangling me.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I never found a single solid food that was edible when pureed. Can's of hormell turkey chili (no beans) were a staple of mine. Magic Bullet saved my but thru many stages.

Do You have meal plan that they gave you for stages? I know it's hard to follow but take it from a girl that knows... Just follow what they say it's only for a short while. You thank yourself later. I promise <3

I'm in the puree stage and what am I eating? Protein Shakes still (totally sick of them so trying to switch it up with different recipes) refried Beans w cheese, mashed potatoes, cream of brocolli Soup, Tomato Soup, french onion soup, pudding, greek yogurt, applesauce, Jello, avacado. Thought of blending up some chili and also maybe some chicken noodle soup but haven't yet. Soft cooked veggies like carrots or peas sound pretty good too. I'm having a hard time getting too much down and getting that stuck in the throat feeling so still not eating too much.

Oh I forgot oatmeal and I've heard many eat cottage cheese although I've never liked it. Also maybe some turkey w a little turkey gravy vs broth to make it thicker.

I agree with the others. Foods that you don't have to puree are the answer to the blender and money problems. These include: eggs fixed any way you want; yogurt (I love plain Greek yogurt and it has lots of protein.); cottage cheese; ricotta cheese; refried beans; oatmeal and cream of wheat thinned with skim milk; mashed sweet potatoes; canned salmon, tuna or chicken mixed with lowfat mayo; steamed fish, crab or scallops; lentil or split pea soup; and tofu.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
