So Monday the 17th is my surgery and I'm really nervous. I did horrible on my Pre op diet and I'm nervous that things could go wrong. I had the band last year and everything went smooth but this is a little more serious. Has anyone had an complications during surgery after not following their Pre op diet?

I am also Monday and pretty nervous. Fortunately, I had very little asked of me as a pre op diet. I asked a couple of co workers who already had the surgery about the diet and they also said that they didn't really follow it and they are now doing beautifully with no complications. Good luck tomorrow! :) My surgeon moved my time up from 9:30am to 7:30am, so it'll be an early day for me.

Never had PreOp diet- some doctors don't require it :)

one reason you are put on a pre-op diet is to help shrink the liver, this helps the surgeon/you during the WLS

some dr.'s want you to loose 5% or 10% of your weight pre WLS

this pre-op stage, getting ready to change your eating habits, drinking, eating less, etc etc. - these are habits that will become your new way of life - in other words, you are easing into the new Sleeve world

that being said................you didn't follow the pre-op - but thats over with, whats done is done - the present is all you need to worry about

today, tomorrow and the future---for the rest of your life - you must be diligent with your new way of life in respect to your food habits, how you deal with food

follow the rules of the sleeve - otherwise you get 1,000 whips with a wet noodle!! ;)

resqme4 - girlfriend the above goes for you too ;)

both ladies have a wonderful nap tomorrow through WLS - and a great recovery

shortly you'll be on that long, forever journey through Sleeveland

good luck

:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
