Weight Goal, I Am Upset

I had doctor appointment this Thursday and I asked him what is my weight goal from his point of view and I was very disappointing with answer

I am 5'7" and my weight in the ticket below.

he told me that I can expect to loose 80 lbs with sleeve, might be 100lb but he doubt it.

and I was a bit shocked. I need to loose at least 100 but better 120. and now I feel like I fail even before staring.

he said if I want to loose more I need to do bypass. and I don't want to do this.

Why is he ruin my dream?

Uhm...doctors speak in terms of what the literature tells them. A bunch of numbers and averages. Think of what would happen if he told you you'd lose 120lbs and you topped out at 80lbs. You'd probably

Thank you everyone. I totally understand that I need to work a lot to reach my goal and surgery is the tool.

My doctor told me that I could expect to lose only 60% of my excess weight and he put my goal at 110 pounds. I have no idea how he came up with that figure. At 110 pounds. I'd be wearing a size 0. I flat out refuse to go there.

hmm if I would count 60% of my excess weight. I need to lose 104lbs. this is exactly what I want :)

Last week at the surgeons' I was told he would remove 70-75% of the stomach and that I would lose approximately 80% of my goal of 100 pounds. He suggested an RNY and I told him I would not be comfortable with that and still wanted the sleeve. I did not come this far to get my dreams shattered. I will merely diet until the whole 100 comes off.
