i'm just curious.. does your stomach heal completely after you've had surgery?.. like.. the stitching dissolve?.. or will you always have the stitches?

i know it seems like a stupid question, but after reading someone else's comment on a different thread, it made me curious.. i just assumed the stomach would heal..

The staples will always be there, for the rest of your life. I would imagine that the tissue will heal around it though.

You are right tracey, they heal completely and grow over the titanium staples. This healing takes time though, and that is why, like any new wound, we are more vulnerable to leaks if we over-fill our small stomachs before they have had time to fully heal.
