so yesterday was my first visit with my nutritionist, It went very well. This is the first requirment through aetna select, I must meet with her four times and be in a restricted diet for three months. I learned alot about nutrition and how things are going to change before and after my surgery. My current BMI is 42. I will obviously loose some weight while on this restricted diet. therefore lowering my BMI some, so would my insurance (which requires a BMI of 40) deny me coverage if I lower my BMI? I know I can loose weight by dieting, but the problem is, is that I cant keep it off, I am so tired of being heavy all my life, I couldnt bare it if they turned me down. Does anyone else have aetna select? and what is your story with them?

I also have Aetna. I got cleared for surgery last week and am having my surgery this MONDAY. MY BMI is 32. I had a lapband that I had for 2 years and had just achieved my goal weight when I started having trouble with it and had to have it removed this past Dec. since then I have gained 32 lbs. I never thought the insurance would pay to have it done AGAIN. So I am very excited and feel very blessed. Be encouraged that Aetna will pay.
