C-Section Vs Sleeve Pain

Hi my name is Chris and I’m from the Bronx(NY) I will be having my surgery(hopefully) at Montefiore with Dr. Vemulapalli, so many things are running through my head and so many questions I want to ask. For all the women that can answer this; is the sleeve more painful than having a c-section?

I have had 3 c-sections and I remember that the pain from the first one was horrible but the second and third were a breeze. Lol…

Thanks

  • I have had three C-sections and each one was very painful for me. The sleeve was a breeze for me compared to the C-sections...also you aren't caring for newborn after the sleeve!

Thank you to all who replied. I’m glad to know that the pain won’t be any worse than a c-section. One less thing to worry about.

I had 3 c sections, lap band and sleeve, sleeve was more uncomfortable because of the gas pain only. I recovered easily with all.

How about nausea and things like that afterward? Did that contribute to VSG discomfort in comparison to the C-section? I too am considering a sleeve, and have had 2 c-sections.

I would say that its very comparable. Right after surgery the sleeve is more painful but recovery is bit quicker than C-section

I had a c-section as well and the vsg is nothing compared to it.....that's a good thing though
