August 5, 200322 yr I just can't seem to wrap my mind around how in the world we can consume only 1/2 cup of food at each meal (3 times a day), and still get enough calories, protein, etc.? Does anyone have a typical menu for a day?
May 26, 200917 yr I have had 3 fills and I am definitly restricted. My problem is it hurts to eat. I know I am chewing and eating slowly but one or two bites and then I am in pain. I have the back ache and shoulder ache from the time after surgery. I can eat crayfish but chicken and beef kill me. i couldn't even eat a scrambled egg today. It even hurts to drink. I am one unhappy camper. I had the same exact thing happen to me. I was too tight. I called my Dr because Water hurt going down. I lost 6lbs in 3 days. I had 1cc removed and it was so much better. BTW, Im from Houma too. I dont really know anyone local thats had the surgery. I see a Dr in Metairie.
May 26, 200917 yr I spoke to the nurse at my doctor's office and I go in tomorrow for an adjustment. They will take out a bit of fluid this time.
May 26, 200917 yr The doctors in HOUMA have done between 300 andd 400 lap band procedures. We have a support group that meets the last Wednesday of the month at the surgery center. I find the group very helpful and encouraging.

May 27, 200917 yr You are lucky!! Most of us would never get away with eating 2000 calories even if we worked out 2 hours a day. It just goes to show you we shouldn't compare ourselves to anyone else even if we did have the same surgery
May 28, 200917 yr I am so glad to read that the half cup is after it has been chewed. I have been eating about 1 cup to 1 1/2 cup since my first fill. I almost fainted on 1/2 cup a day and so I contacted my nutritionist and she said sometimes it's ok to eat that much.
