Yesterday I went to a funeral and because I knew it would be an all day, knock out, drag down affair (person died young and tragically) I packed food for at least a snack and a meal. I had a small pack of nuts and a turkey/cheese Lunchables. Like many of us, I also have a schedule I have to keep to get in my fluids and Protein so I pulled out my pack of nuts on the way to the cemetery and starting eating. Everyone wanted some. I already felt bad when I didn't offer, but I was keeping my goals in mind. So I had to give some up. Same thing with the Lunchables... Of course my protein was a bit lower than what I was shooting for at the end of the day. Mind you, these are people who know I've had surgery, but they have no concept of protein counts, scheduling, etc. I don't think anyone does unless they experience WLS.

How do I tell people no without #1 telling my business if they don't know or #2 not seeming selfish?

Well, you can just say no nicely and inform them that you are on a strict diet that you must adhere too. Don't get into any particulars. If they ask what kind of diet you can say a diet that is high in Protein and low in fat or something of that nature. Hopefully that will keep the noisy's out of your business ;) !!

I always say that I can't share because I am logging my portions and need to maintain my serving sizes.

I take logging my food pretty seriously, so if it is someone that has been around me any length of time, they know I log my food and portion sizes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
