What Did I Do To Myself ?

I've read about it several times on this forum , but I thought it would never happen to me . I went out to eat with my daughter to a Indian resteraunt & had baked swordfish & yogurt . After what I thought was just a few bites I realized I was in trouble ! I had this big lump of fish in my throat that would not go down ! I started to freak b/c it's such a scary feeling ! I tried sipping some water & that made it worse . I finally got up & went to the bathroom . I didn't even have to retch like I normally would if I was going to vomit ...it just came up with all this clear slimy stuff & there was a lot ! More than I can remember eating ! What was that ? I hope I didn't hurt my sleeve ? That's the first time I've vomited since being sleeved ...really scared me !

  • Pre-sleevers, don't freak out. Doesn't happen to everyone. I've never had the "pleasure" of sliming, and hope I never do. I've not thrown up since surgery either. I just wanted to say that so no one

I just wanted to say that so no one freaks out thinking you're doomed to this no matter what.

Karrina-D- also make sure you absolutely chew the LIFE outta your meat. Someone on here once said "chew your food until you feel like you want to spit it out. THEN swallow it." That's about the size of it. ;)

This is good advice. I would also say that I had sliming several times with my band and it was truly unpleasant, but it really is avoidable (at least with the band) when you follow Dooter's advice.

When did u have it done may I ask. And would like for u to add me to my fitness pal my name on there is tamara1965 thanks
