Acid Reflux

Hi,

Was just wondering did anyone who had a vsg have acid reflux before surgery and now that you have lose the weight and have several months under your belt, did it go away Pleeaaasse tell me its gone

    Ok here is what I do which helps. Take a pepcid once a day to control the acid overall. But go to Walmart and get their brand acid reducer which u can take as you feel all the pressure and uncomfortab

    not eating makes it worse because the air in your stomach pushes the acid up

My doctor is going to do an Upper GI Series on me because he said I could have scar tissue pushing along the stitch line causing the heartburn. He said to stop it the do an endoscopy procedure and blow your pouch up with a balloon. Supposedly that stops the heartburn. Don't know a lot about it but will keep you posted during the process.

My doctor and the staff have been great - any issues or concerns I have are dealt with immediately - my doctor has even called me to check up a few times out of the blue - I think they just know it's frustrating for me and just want to make sure!!! I did have a leak test right after surgery and it was fine.

I will post when I find out more - thanks for the prayers :)
