So I went to my 1 month post op. My dr. Mentioned how fair my skin was(im beyond pale always was) and told me my Vitamin D was a little low(after looking at my blood work) which is nothing new to me its always been low.

He started suggesting I go walking in short shorts and sleeveless shirts.

Told him that's not happening for obvious reasons.

So he prescribed me vit d2 1.25mg once a week. Told me vit d supplements wont cut it. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff/ any side effects?

My husband is on Vitamin D2 in a high dose as well as he was really low in Vitamin D. He says that at first, he felt really energetic and a little edgy, but after a couple of weeks after his body adjusted to it, he felt better.

I take Vitamin D3, 5,000 mg daily and have for over a year. I'm not sure why your doctor said that wouldn't cut it. My doctor was really impressed with my Vitamin D levels pre-surgery so I'm hopeful they'll be okay when I get my three-month blood work done in late July.

when I had my pre-op blood work my doctor said my Vitamin D levels were the lowest he has ever seen in his career. He prescribed vitamin D 50,000 mcg once a week. I also felt very energetic the first 2 weeks or so but then I felt normal. I kinda miss that little burst of energy monday mornings as I tend to always be tired.

A couple of years ago my Doctor discovered during a routine blood test that my Vitamin D levels were very low... I'm talking about a level of 7. Anyway, with fair skin, red hair and a family history of melanoma besides the fact that I live in the Northwest - getting more sun was not happening. I did 6 months of prescription Vit D3 at 50,000 once a week and then moved into over the counter 5,000 a day. The blood test drawn before more surgery showed a level of 50. So the Vitamin D3 does work.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
