Pre-Op Teach

Had my 3 hour pre-op teach today. Didn't learn a lot of new stuff, they went over what to expect for the hospital stay. Then the pre-op diet. 2 weeks of high Protein, low sugar, low fat liquids. People were pretty happy when they said yogurt and pudding count as liquid :) I need to get some unflavored unjury to mix in. They were really good at trying to make cheap suggestions. Talked about Vitamins and the Bariatric fusion ones that they see seemed the best deal at $24 for a month supply. I met with the doctor for a few minutes, he asked if I had questions and I asked how much weight I could lose before school started again after labor day. He said 50-60 pounds! So I am pretty happy with that! I hope so!

Oh, I stopped at a goodwill before since I had time and I am so looking forward to going shopping for new stuff when I need it at goodwill and thrift stores! They had lots of decent stuff.

I never thought about Goodwill! That's a great idea! My doc didn't mention any pudding or yogurt. I am on a super strict 14 day pre-op that includes 3 protein shakes, 2 cups of green leafy veggies and 2 cups of chicken broth A DAY! I am on day 6 and if I didn't think there were too many carbs I would chew my own arm off!
