Eating

I am 12 days post op, have lost 15 pounds. I am allowed to start puréed food this weds at 14 days out. Anyone have any good ideas about food going into this phase? Must stay on puréed for 14 days then transition into diet as tolerated.

I loved to grill a portabella mushroom and whip it up in the blender with a can of FF cream of mushroom soup. it has a lot of flavor to it.

Cottage cheese mashed potatoes, egg salad, tuna with light mayo and a bit of light ranch dressing. Add in some carrots... Just a few baby carrots and blend. FF refried beans. I tried blended lentil soup, it did not sit well for me. Blended bean and ham soup. That is all I can think of. Glad I purchased a Magic Bullet!!! It has been soooooo useful. Best of luck. I am on pureed for two weeks, then mushies for three and then transition to regular foods.

I'm in the 3rd day of mushies and have not gotten too adventurous with different things but I have been eating refried beans. Tonight I mixed in some of my wife's homemade chile without pureeing it. I found as long as I take tiny bites with my baby spoon and chew alot, it sets well. Cottage cheese with pureed fruit, greek yogurt, fried eggs and pudding are some of my favorites. I feel tempted to eat soft food and chew it well, thus bypassing the blender, but I haven't done it yet.
