Burning Severe Pain With Numbness

I have had major pain starting 4 days after surgery. I was coughing quite a bit and when it first happened it felt like I had ripped my insides. I called dr,s office and they said was normal.3 days later I am still hurting when I try to get up from a sitting position. I have slept sitting straight up for the last 3 nights. There is a major burning sensation but a sharp pain also with numbness from my. Navel to my left Side. Anybody else have this problem?

I agree call the doctor it is nothing to mess around with.

I hope you called your doctor. Please let us know if your ok.

Nothing to add here. You have to call your doctor.

I am surprised by your navel comment, since the surgery site is quite distant !?

Let us know what you did.

Dr's office said it would take about 3 to 3 1/2 weeks for the pain to go away.My largest incision is on my left side because that is where the stomach was pulled out. The pain goes from there to my navel and a little below. I guess i aggravated it where they had to cut into the muscles and tendons. Thanks for everyone's advice.
