Surgery Date 03/22/12

Hi! My name is Bethany and I am having my sleeve done on Thursday 03/22! I am so excited/nervous!! I currently weigh 263 and my goal is 150. I went last year to a seminar done by another doctor in my area and loved him---but didn't feel like his staff were very helpful. After looking at my insurance I was told that I did not qualify and then they sent me on my way with no further instruction. So after a few months my husband thought I should go to a different doctor that he had heard about so I went on to one of their siminars expecting to be told the same thing about my insurance. D. Penningtons staff were amazing!!! they helped me figure out exactly what I needed to qualify with my insurance and were able to get a pre approval for me! So noe here I am just a few days from surgery! I really would like to have someone I can talk to through all of this and so if anyone is going through the procedure close to the same time as me...let me know and we can be pen pals or something :)

  • Best wishes for a complication-free surgery and speedy recovery. The odds are on your side that you should do very well. I know you must have pre-op jitters and I do, too, because my surgery date is

  • I always get sick from surgery so I told them to light me up, I didn't want to wake up sick. The last thing I remember (rather embarrassingly) was saying "yeehaw" as they were pushing the gurney from

I'm on 3/22 also. Anesthesia does strange things to me, so I always apologize ahead of time. I tell them to please forgive me for anything I might say, and that there's no way they can hold me responsible :tongue2: My daughter's a RN and she says that folks say all kinds of crazy stuff before surgery. I think they keep a log somewhere in her hospital, just so they can refer back to it for laughs.

I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am and surgery is scheduled for 7:30am, so please keep me in your prayers!

Chacha, wishing you the best. You are in my prayers tonight. Pls keep us updated as soon as you are able to. Looking forward to hearing your progress.

Well, tomorrow's our day! How's everyone feeling? I'm really excited and looking forward to this!!

I'm excited but it hasnt really hit me yet that this is it!!! butttttt I am so nervous abut drinking this bowel prep stuff.

Just remember there may be a few rough patches, but think of all the advantages. If you have been subservient to food your whole life, for once you will be its master!
