Surgery Anxiety

I'm very lucky to have only a 2 day liquid diet before surgery. With that being said - tomorrow is day 1.

My anxiety is at an all time high. I'm ready for the change but I'm scared too. Saying goodbye to my friend and enemy (food) isn't as easy as it sounds. It's almost the same feeling I experienced last year when I quit smoking - except I did that cold turkey and it was a success!

So....surgery is Tuesday. I hope everything goes smoothly!

Everything should go smoothly. I quit smoking cold tukey myself knowing we would never be friends again. This surgery isnt saying goodbye to your friend food. It will forever change your relationship but in a good way now you will be in a healthy relationship together.

Good luck on surgery day! :)

I'm not worried about 2 days of liquids but the 3 weeks after surgery seems like a lifetime

Right now! Lol I can't wait to start this new chapter!!!

Good luck Stacey you will do fine. I am having my surgery on April 18th. I have to do 3 weeks of liquids prior to my surgery. So two days you should be fine. I am going to enjoy my last St Patricks Day of drinking Guinness but it will be worth it in the end. I will be much healthier once i change my life and get this weight off. It is not a magic bullet but a tool to help us to become healthy again. We can all do this we just have to stay positive.

Hi Stacey - don't be anxious! You'll do great, and the changes to your relationship with food with get easier and easier. The three weeks of liquids after surgery will be easier because you'll be healing and liquids is mostly all you'll want. Good luck and God bless!!
