Hello All! My name is Carlos and I'm scheduled to have my gastric sleeve done on April 2nd by Dr David Suh. I'm currently 6'3 and weigh 360 lbs. Dr Suh has put me on a high protein low carb diet and is having me take Prilosec and 1000 mg of vitamin c on a daily basis. My question is will I be put on a liquid diet a couple of weeks prior to surgery? As with any surgery, i'm just a little bit nervous. Do you guys have any suggestions to do before surgery to make it a smoother recovery? Thanks for your help!

My surgeon requires a two week low-fat atkins diet to shrink my liver. I do not need to do the liquid diet, but cannot have any carbs. Hope this helps. Each surgeon is different with their requirements, but I believe that trying to shrink your liver is standard with all surgeons. You should check with your surgeon's office to find out what he requires you to do. Hope this helps!! Good luck!
