I'm scheduled 7/25. My instructions from Dr. Patterson are one day liquid.

She gives you general diet guidelines for one month pre-op. Then the liquid the day before surgery.

Hello! I am new to the forum but have been lurking a while. I recently decided to move forward with VSG. I live in the Portland area and am self pay.

Are any of you Patterson patients self pay? If yes, do you what your total costs were? what was the timeframe from 1st appt to surgery with Dr Patterson?

If I can't afford her I may travel to Mexico. Did any of you Oregonians cross the border?

Does anyone have a PDX area WLS friendly PCP you can recommend?

I was sleeved by Dr. higa in McMinnville. My insurance paid were just over $75,000 between the surgeon, anaesthesiologist, hospital, etc. That included the endoscopy pre-op.

Frza, yes! I am cash pay w Dr Patterson. But I have insurance that may cover labs and sleep study. I was quoted $35,828. All my pre op stuff was basically done in two days and my preop apt is 8-7. Thanks for the responses! Are you able to recommend a primary care doctor who is sensitive to a WLS patient's needs? I am somewhat new to Portland and don't have a PCP here yet.

My Dr is kirk Jacobson in Eugene, but I don't think he is taking new patients, and its a long drive. I recommend calling and asking Dr. Patterson's office. I'm sure they get that question a lot!

They have made the preop stuff easy so far. I am going to Portland after work today to have my metabolism,exercise,sleep and psych tests tomorrow. Had Ekg and bloodwork by pcp, and have nutrition consult over the phone tomorrow nite. Have u turned in your initial application yet?

I am with Dr Patterson but I have insurance so I've been going since January!!! I have surgery next Wednesday. YIKES!
