I Definitely Regret Surgery.... So Far!

*****UPDATE****** feb 2nd, 2012

i now have a leak & a stent was placed in. feeling horrible!!! the below post is the least of my worries now!

im going crazy.. :(

i was sleeved dec 20th. everything was ok until maybe a week after coming home from the hospital. i realized that i was extremely exhausted and always felt faint. it didnt really start hitting me hard until last week. everyone keeps telling me that it will get better but it feels like its getting worse! i keep trying to "stay positive" but how much more of this can i take? i want to feel normal again!!!!

i noticed that when i walk, im like dragging my feet. im so weak and faint. almost like my thighs might just give out.

i also have excessive gas which i think is making me really nauseous. the burps are just crazy. i cant eat or sip without burping.. then it wont stop until i take some gas x chewables. i live off those chewables.

as far as shakes, i cant tolerate them. ive tried so many different ones & i throw them up. they absolutely repulse me!

i do eat but i have to be "in the mood" to eat whatever is in front of me or i will just throw it up. my stomach is extremely weak! i cant even tolerate Soups. they turn my stomach too.

i called my surgeon & told him how im feeling & he told me im dehydrated. told me to get on gatorade for a week & see how i feel then. im going in thursday morning to see the nurse practioner.

the gas & the gatorade mixed is making me very nauseous.

i take 20mg of prilosec in the morning, 2- Multivitamins & 1- B12.

im so so so so so so tired of this! i truly regret surgery. i never thought id feel like this but i do. :(

With the TPN, you would definitley not have a lack of nutrition and I think you would begin to feel so much better!

Oh my. Very difficult day. Glad the doctor (s) got to see you today. Hopefully you are closer to a resolution of this nightmare. Sending you a ton of good vibes and hugs.

I'M PRAYING FOR YOU. HOPING YOU WILL RECOVER SOON!

Praying for you dear jasleeve . Have been watching your blog closely for a glimmer of healing. I am continuing to monitor here and continuing to pray for a fast fast recovery.

holy crap i just realized that i am subscribed to your youtube channel. you should make an update video. i would freak out with a stent. how did they put it in you?

how do you get on youtube channel, do you have to subscribe? i'll like to take advantage of it too.

jasleeve - if you could get better w/all the help, support of your good wishes your receiving, you'd probably be running around the block by now - you are going through such horrible, horrible times. You are the worst nightmare that we see, and pray doesn't happen to us. I know that sounds awful to say but....

Jasleeve, we are all thinking of you, waiting for you to feel better.

best - kathy

its funny u should say that kathy because i have read horror stories & never thought they could or would happen to me but it has... and anyone who has the surgery runs the risk of going thru this or worse.

i felt ok all night & didnt feel any nausea. i was sleeeping in intervals so i have yet to sleep straight thru since the stent. i woke up after seeming like i just dosed off & i began throwing up in my mouth & in my hand. i thought it was over & thought i no longer had to worry since the nausea had subsided after the procedure but i guess not. :(

Hi Jasleeve. I've been reading your posts and wanted you to know to hang in there.....it will get better!! I'm a leak survivor and have experienced the whole stent experience. I didn't have all the nausea you've had but had constant saliva production and had to spit in a cup for 6 weeks!! One thing that did help me was my doc prescribed the patches that people wear behind their ear for motion sickness. They dried up the saliva some and may help you with the nausea. I had alot of dry heaves with the stent but not much vomiting like you. I was similar to you in that I just wanted the stent out because mine migrated and hurt the last couple of weeks. Please just take one day at a time and your leak WILL heal but in its own time!! If I can be of any help, let me know. Judy

so today isnt as bad as every other day. im not fighting the 24/7 urge to throw up. i was "feeling" hungry so i decided to eat a little bit of fruit from a fruit cup (mixed in natural juices, not syrup) & i couldnt finish it. it feel like the food is kinda stuck in my chest & its giving my stomach an unsettled feeling. my back also feels funny but i think thats because of gas maybe. i dont know.

i wanted to lay down to attempt to relax & possibly take a nap but i think thatll be a bad idea with how im feeling.

(sigh)

Jasleeve,

Nothing new to say or offer today, just wanted to post and tell you I am still here, still praying for you and sending you hugs and good vibes.

Was good to read Judy's post, to hear from someone who has been through the same thing as you, and hear of her positive outcome. Cling to those thoughts! Her last couple of thoughts say so much!

Even though it is hard now, healing WILL come. and you will eventually be there. We are all here for you. Keep on Keeping on!

I am so glad today seems to be going a little better. Sounds like still a little rough but any little bit better is good!
