Can We Get Back To Support And Stop Attacking Each Other Please?

  • Popular Post

I am writing tonight because I need to vent a bit about some things i have recently seen and experienced on this forum that seems to be a new trend. I have been on this support forum for the past 5 months and it was the best thing to happen to me after my vsg. Lately I have been attacked and have witnessed people getting attacked on this page and it makes me honestly not want to come on here and post anything at all. I think we are all here for the same reason, to exchange information, to learn more and to SUPPORT each other, not knock each other down and tear each other apart. Can we please get back to what this forum is about because I loved it as it was before....when we helped each other, supported each other and gave each other props.

You are right. We should be supporting each other. There are enough people (outside those of us who have gotten sleeved) that are willing to criticize us.

I know I certainly felt attacked when I came out about my bulimia struggles. Not just attacked, but really ridiculed. I was very disappointed in this forum and had to take a few weeks off. After that, I've turned into more of a lurker. It really is too bad, we face enough of that **** from the outside world, and have most of our lives as obese people.

I imagined that people here freaked out on you... bingeing and purging do not mix well with the sleeve... especially early out when you can rip your staple line. Hope all is going well for you now. It must be very challenging. Please understand that that response is a warning call to keep you safe. I hope they did not make it personal, thats not right.

Thanks feedyoureye! No, for me, bulimia has always been a result of overeating and being out of control (half a pizza). With the sleeve it will remove a lot if not all of that! At this point I can't even imagine doing that to my body, let alone my poor little stomach! I am excited to see if this curbs the ED as I think it will for other obese bulimics who feel out of control.
