hair grows faster?

Not too concern about hair loss since I shave my head anyways. Now that I'm 2 months out, my my 9"+ beard has grown 3"+ inches. When I was much younger I could easily grow it 20", but suspect that being 330lbs interfered somehow.

anyone else experienced this?
