How long til you can drive?

I get surgery in 2 weeks but my husband will be out of town a couple of days after i get home, how long til i can drive?

    I was told I can drive as long as I'm not on my pain meds. I do know they want someone else to drive you home (probably because you will be on pain meds). I drove the first time 3 days after I was released and I was fine. My doctor didn't get me any restrictions about driving.

    The doctors suggested I wait a week so that I could twist my torso without extreme pain to check blind spots and whatnot. Definately no driving if you are still on the pain meds. I waited about 5 days after surgery & was fine.
