4 days post op

I also had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as my surgery (3:00pm 10/20) and cannot drink enough protein. I feel full and am afraid to force too much in. Does anyone else have this problem & is this normal? The shakes i have are 27 grams protein, 170 calories & lactose free, 14 oz. How many ounces should i be drinking this soon after surgery?

This early out just concentrate on staying hydrated ( water, sugar free juice, etc.) you don't want to get dehydrated... Do what you can don't force yourself!! Good luck and congrats :)

At 4 days out I wouldn't worry so much about protein. Focus on getting in your liquids. Aim for a min of 64 ounces. If you happen to be able to get some protein in then awesome, but right now just stay hydrated. I didn't start worrying about protein until I was a week out. My surgeon wanted me to get in a min of 65 but told me to just do my best. I am not 5 weeks out and am just now able to get it in (I couldn't handle the protein drinks for some reason).

Congrats on being on the loser's bench!!
