Waiting for approval

Hello All,

This is my first time on the forum, I am waiting for approval from my insurance to get the sleeve procedure done I am 5"1 and I weigh 195 pound and counting. My BMI is 35 and people really don't think I need to have the surgery, but I continue to gain weight no matter how much working out I do or how well I eat and change my habits I can't lose the weight. I am so scared to have surgery but I know that I need to have this done, I have three co-morbid conditions high blood pressue, high cholesterol and sleep apnea.

What is the recovery process like and how did you feel after the surgery, was anyone able to go right back to work or had to stay out for weeks? :)

Hi and welcome to the forum

I havent had my surgery yet, but I have heard that you may need to take 2-4 wek off. It just depends on you. From my understanding, it really depends on you. As you view the forum, it will become very helpful to you. You will find out alot of info on different things that others have/are going through. Stay in touch. Glad to have you here.

I to am waiting for my surgery date and am 5’2 and weigh 240 and I am terrified of surgery. I had a doctor ask me if I really was large enough to have the surgery. Let me tell you YES and I have hb, bad knees, bad back, bad ankles and am only 43 and I have a four year old along with a eight year old. I want to be around to watch them grow and to be able to run with them. I wish you the best.
