After eating too fast

Recommended Posts

Does any one else notice that when you eat a little too fast or don't chew well enough you sneeze or need to blow your nose? Is this just me??? Odd!!

My nose runs like a faucet after and DURING meals, it always has but seems to be WORSE since the sleeve. TMI ALERT: Extremely watery stuff, not snot per-se.

I posted a long response along these lines somewhere else, but can't remember where. It has to do with stimulation of the vagus nerve (Google it) which for some of us is greater after VSG. Since my surgery, my nose is more runny all the time, not just when I eat too fast or too much. But when I do make that mistake, I have teary eyes, runny nose AND the hiccups. Lucky me!! After 5 months, I am pretty sure this will be the way it is forever, but NO REGRETS!!!!! :) Kathe

LOL  I have been wondering about this--it seems like every time I take a drink for the past few days I sneeze--it has been driving me crazy!!!! I have had the runny nose too--I am having issues with slowing down when I eat and drink--(old habits are hard to break) now I guess I know...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
