Surgery Scheduled!

I had my surgery consult yesterday and I am scheduled for surgery on October 17th! I am so excited but a little nervous about the surgery it's self. I am not worried at all about post op life, but going through a major surgery with risks of major complications does scare me a little. My surgeon is very great and his staff is amazing... but I wondered if anyone else is/was nervous about actually going through surgery too, if so how did you deal?

Congrats on getting your date!

I dealt with nervousness and worry by preparing as best I could- that gave me a bit of feeling of

control over the situation. I read lots of surgery stories, articles and medical information about

my surgery with out causing myself to worry more- and I did some things to make life easier while

I was gone and upon return home like - caught up on housework and made sure the kitchen was organized

with all of my post op stuff- made arrangements for the kids and prayed that God would see me through

the actual surgery- I made some friends here while I was stalking all the pre and post op posts- that helped a lot-

and

Everything went very well - I'm recovering nicely at 13 days post op and YOU WILL TOO!
