Hi:
I am 49 years old and weigh 325 pounds. I have completed all my tests and am waiting for my surgery date. I have been overweight since my childhood and have tried every diet their ever was. I looked into the gastric bypass surgery over a year ago because my insurance would not cover the lap band procedure. The great surprise was in April they insurance company informed me that after July 1st, 2006 they would start covering the lapband. I knew this was meant for me.
I am eagerly awaiting my lapband. However, I still have this feeling inside what if I fail with the lapband. Can anyone tell me how they stay away from the junk food, sweets, with the lap band? I'd sure like some comfort on this subject.
Thanks.
