Vitamin-med rejection

HI!!!

I just got sleeve on 8/17. LIterally, a week and 1 day. Had breakfast(greek yogurt & pineapple) and then had my Vitamins and other meds. Well, as soon as I took the multi(celebrates straw/pineapple chewable) I got a gurgling in my tummy and then it all came up. It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, feeling wise. It was dry and there was no stomach acid at all. Anyway, sorry, I'm probably grossing you out by now.:( Should I retake my vitamins? Or my prozac, which I saw floating in the bowl? LOL Not sure what to do.

Thanks!

Right now you should be fine without ANY Vitamins, especially if you started taking them pre-op, you've got enough stored away or can do without for a month or better.

I'd stay off them till tummy feels more co-operative, you just had him sliced and diced up pretty good and he's feeling kinda blue right now, he'll settle down and co-operate pretty soon.

I had the same problem.... I ended up having to crush my vitamins and mix them in with my protein shake in the morning or greek yogurt. My surgeon said that the chewable vitamins expand in our stomachs and thats why they don't work for some people. Try mixing them, but if it doesn't work hold off for a few days and try again. You will have a lot of trial and error over the coming months. Good Luck!

  • 2 weeks later...

I cannot tolerate my multi-vitamin either so I am holding off on taking it until I move to soft food to see if that helps.
