I'm getting worried...

Recommended Posts

So many what-ifs. I am worried that post surgery, my wife and I will no longer be. Does anyone else you know have or have had this feeling? I honestly believe that my wife prefer me to be XXXXXL so nobody else will even look at me. She supports me to my face but I have heard her talk to her friends about me not needing it. But yet it's perfectly ok for her to get the Sleeve. Does that seem fair? Not to me. I tried talking with her but she is so far unresponsive. What am I to do?

I think this is a fear many people have. There really isn't much you can do about that fear except for to let her work it out on her own. In time, she will see that her fears are unfounded. I would imagine it is very difficult not to have her full support but if her fear is of losing you then I guess that is a compliment!

my husband told me he didn't want me to loose the weight because he didn't want me to leave him--I was shocked that he felt that way. He said once I am skinny I will probably have affairs and he will have to fight men that look at me--it has taken a lot of talking to get him comfy with my surgery. Sometimes, I think the only thing I can do is prove him wrong. Time will show him that I have no intention of all his fears coming true, Be patient, we are making big changes and our spouses know if affects them too!!!

I believe that a person's WLS and subsequent weight loss (hopefully) is a solitary journey. We are around other people, but that is deceptive. Only WE know what it means. It sounds like you and your wife are both on this solitary journey. I would just respect that, support each other if possible, and plan to reconnect on the other side.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
